Bus in the Meadow Cocktails

Did you know our newly converted Bus in the Meadow for Glamping on our 27 acre Glamping site has it's own cocktail bar. So we've decided to get our creative juices flowing and create a signature Bus in the Meadow Cocktails for each season. The cocktails will be based on ingredients foraged around the farm. As it's autumn, apples and blackberry's are in season, so here goes.....


Fall from the Tree

We have a small orchard on the farm which we planted nearly 10 years ago when we moved to Bob's family farm to be with his Mum, Stella. Unfortunately, we didn't label them at the time so don't know the varieties. Although Apple Day in High Bickington is a yearly gathering to crush apples and socialise with the locals. We must remember to get them identified as they are very delicious!



  • 50ml gin

  • 25ml creÌ€me de muÌ‚re (blackberry liqueur). Homemade cordial

  • A good squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice or Apple juice,

  • Top up of Soda water (optional)

  • A few mint sprigs


Method

Combine the gin, crème de mûre and a few leaves of mint in a shaker glass full of ice, shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Add a squeeze of lemon, then top up with apple juice (or half juice to half soda water, if you prefer). Garnish with a sprig of mint and a blackberry to serve.

You could put some crumble crumbs around the rim of the glass for extra texture.

The next cocktail will be Halloween inspired, watch this space........
